Summary of this Book...
When thirteen year old Eva awakens from a coma, she senses something is wrong. Her parents tell her that she was in a near fatal automobile accident and a special experimental surgery was performed on her to keep her alive. Eva faces not only selective memory loss but odd selective memory recall. She knows that her parents, and medical staff, are keeping something from her but she wasn't prepared for the revelation.
I especially liked...
It walks the fine line between medical science fiction and the rediculous, especially in this age of organ transplant and preservation of life at all cost.

The writing is well above some of the current young adult literature as far as elevated language, plotline, and upper level thinking are concerned
I didn't like...
It's difficult to criticise this book because it is written for a targeted group. I did find some of the situations some what contrived and it does require the reader to suspend reality to near breaking point.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Recommended it to the "readers" in my classes.
This Book made me feel...
Extremely reflective. I always came back to that same question, would I do anything to keep my child with me, alive? Also, are memories storied in every part of the body, tucked away in the DNA of all cells?
The author of this Book...
took great care in trying to keep the book within medical and scientific reality; which is exactly what good science fiction does.
I recommend this Book because...
It is very timely and provocative.
I don't recommend this Book because...
It contains some very disturbing material for anyone who doesn't agree with organ transplant, espiecially interspecies.
Further Comments...
this is a great discussion book and I do highly recommend it for any student of medical science fiction. I do recommend that it does need to stay in the 13 and above reading group regardless of the reader's reading level because of it mature content.
