Summary of this Book...
Trixie Belden, fourteen year old dective, travels to London with her best friend Honey, her brother Mark, and Honey's brother (and Trixie's unofficial crush) Jim. The four are seeking information on Honey's family tree, but wind up (as usual) solving another mystery at the same time!
This type of Book is good for...
Young adults, I would say 8 and up.
I especially liked...
When Ms. Trask, Honey's governess, outwits the crooks by breaking their car. The bad guys were supposed to be "mechanically inclined" but Mrs. Trask proves her superior knowledge!
I didn't like...
The way they made genealogy seem so easy. As a genealogist myself, I know Trixie and Honey were pretty lucky. Then again, it's a kids book, so....
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Start reading the whole series again, which I haven't done for about ten years now.
This Book made me feel...
Young again.
The author of this Book...
Kathryn Kenny
I recommend this Book because...
It is a great read. Nancy Drew was always so perfect, I never felt like she had a hair out of place. Trixie is always being scolded because she is so "unladylike", she loses her temper -- in short, she's very human and real.
I don't recommend this Book because...
No reason.
Further Comments...
My mom recommended Trixie Belden to me, so it is pretty old (the first one was published in the 1950s, the later ones up to 1970). However, Trixie is very appealing and a great deal of fun to read about.

Note: they have currently pulled the older books off my library shelves and began adding the reprints (2003). So far, only the first four in the series have been reprinted, so getting ahold of this book may be a bit difficult.
