A very deep story with a profound meaning.
Would you want to be immortal and have all that power and not be able to die?
Watch the sun destroyed each and every planet before finally reaching you and killing you?
It sounds like the end of a promising story. Now we need the begining!
My favourite parts are when you are describing the sun.
"Outside the crimson light from the swollen sun was waving and shimmering in the superheated air and distances were impossible to gauge."
I could see that sun, it was a fantastic description.
I enjoyed the style and language as well. I just need to think about it for a while longer before giving you a more in-depth review.
It is a good question, however, you could say that the religion I was taught in my home country combined with life's experience and moving around (born in Brazil, lived in Denmark, Spain, and now UK) will have turned into a belief of its own.
Some people can blindly believe in the religion they were taught and because they remain in that country, being bombarded by the same things every day, they forget to think for themselves and question their surrounding culture.
Nevertheless, God is God no matter what religion and no matter what He is called.
Hence, a very good question.
