Eyes are the windows to a shameless soul.
When I first met her,
her eyes were not unlike stars
twinkling in her pretty head,
but rather, like an open door
bidding me to come right in.

When we had fallen
in love, her eyes beamed
so hot and bright it blinded me.
I could not see love
and became her prey.

When we sealed promises,
her eyes shuttered over
like windows in a tenantless
house, hauling me out
like antiquated furniture.

When she abandoned us
to prowl amongst men
and sate her cravings...
her eyes, WILD, growled
like a caged animal.

When I had awakened
one misty morning, I smiled
before I had thought.
Her eyes were bidding another
and couldn't be stopped.
