Do you want to be truly alone?
Waking up is hard today. The radio blaring against the outside noise of...nothing.

This is the middle of Chicago and I live halfway up a fifty story complex. My building is so rarely quiet.

But the sweet smell of coffee brewing is slowly reviving my achy body. The sun is warming my room as I look out over the Lake. This is so relaxing.

Where's the neighbors?

Beautiful. What a relaxing Saturday.

But this is Monday?

What's happening?

I look to the street. Nothing's moving.

What's going on?

I pick up the phone. Dial tone works. My friend's answering machine works.

Cable works.

Wait.

Where's the local broadcast?

No morning show? No weather? No bantering back and forth?

What's happening?
