a short poem about greed, inspired both by the works of Emily Dickinson and J.R.R Tolkien
Greed is the thing
that spreads its wings
over its priceless horde of gold

And lays there,
ever restless,
craving treasures new and old.

Greed is the one
that hides in the dark
coveting one single thing,

but I ask you,
of what importance,
is a shining golden ring?
