A recap of yesterday's Toronto/New York Yankees double header.
For weeks now, there has been big hype about Toronto Blue Jay's pitching prospect, Alek Monoah.

Called up recently from the minors, Monoah made his Major League debut against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium yesterday and didn't disappoint.

In a 2-0 win over the Yanks. in the first game of a double header, Monoah proved the baseball analysts right.

Monoah went six innings, allowing just two hits, no earned runs, two walks and struck out seven batters.

It was a remarkable debut.

As for the game itself, Marcus Semien hit a solo home run at the top of the third inning to put the Jays ahead 1-0.

Later in the inning, Bo Bichette hit a solo home run.

New York's Miguel Andujar went two for three at the plate yesterday.

Yankee's starting pitcher, Domingo German went 5.2 innings, allowing three hits, two earned runs, two walks, and struck out five batters.

Game Two

The Blue Jays were unable to complete the sweep as the Yankees won Game Two 5-3.

In the bottom of the first inning, the Yankees went up 1-0 when Gio Urshela drove in D.J. LeMahieu with a double.

At the top of the third inning, Bichette put Toronto ahead 3-1 with a three run homer.

Toronto wasn't ahead for too long, though.

Aaron Judge tied the game in the bottom of the third with a two run homer.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Yankees went ahead 4-3 when Gary Sanchez hit a solo home run.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Tyler Wade scored on a sacrifice fly by Judge.

Judge finished the game with three RBIs.

Yankee's starting pitcher, Jordan Montgomery went 4.2 innings, allowing five hits, three earned runs, two walks, and struck out a batter.

Bichette had three RBIs.

Jay's starting pitcher, Robbie Ray went 4.2 inn's, allowing five hits, four earned runs, two walks, and struck out five batters.

The Jays are off to Cleveland to kick off a three game series against the Indians tonight.
