A free verse poem that will have different meanings for those who read it.
Time to Exhale

Lovely sea foam eyes draw me in,
held by imaginary velvet ties.
Desire to be a prisoner of consent.
My cell covered in aqua satin,
a soft womb with steel threads.

Like a spider keeps its prey,
disguised as a spun silver embrace.
Never have I known passion's strength.
precious treasures he hides away,
sacraments belong to him alone.

A lesson learned, to keep is to share.
My soul shimmers in innocence.
Cool sheets invite on a steamy night,
Flannel ones, a warm embrace, in cold rain.
Joy flows, an abundant spring, golden sunlight.

Indulge in fairy tales, path of jewels,
crown of gold, emerald ring, tiger eyes,
sapphire navel to ruby toenails.
Time to throw caution to the winds.
Could this be the "real" you?

Life is a stage of characters.
Some come to teach lessons.
One or two stay to give.
Balance sweet and sour.
Let the jester sneak in.

The time will come
to crown a generous queen.
She must pick a man of means,
a fool on the pile of golden rings,
or a honest pauper, singing heart songs.
