You will have to read this to find out all the juicy details of this new football record.
| In the NFL there are records for everything, and I mean everything from kicking to sacks. Records are a big deal in the NFL. The Baltimore Raves just broke a 59 year old record in a preseason game against the Washington football team. The Baltimore Ravens now hold the record of 20 straight preseason wins. The game before this against the Carolina Panthers they tied the record at 19 preseason wins with Green Bay. Vince Lombardi's Green Bay Packers have been holding this record since way back from 1959 to 1962.
It was Aug. 11, 2016, and the Baltimore Ravens captured their first of 19 straight preseason wins with a 22-19 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The games most memorable moment had nothing to do with football when Late in the fourth quarter, the Ravens players and fans celebrated after watching hometown hero Michael Phelps win his 22nd Olympic gold medal on the M&T Bank Stadium video board. Panthers quarterback Cam Newton raised both arms in the air, and Ravens safety Eric Weddle talked about how he would share this story with his children 20 years later.
To get this new record the Baltimore Ravens beat the tar out of the Washington football team 37-3 and now they hold the record of 20 straight preseason wins. Unfortunately the Baltimore Ravens lost one of their best players in their bid to get the preseason record of 20 straight victories. J.K. Dobbins suffered a season-ending knee injury on a play in this historic game. On the other side of the field the Washington football team will certainly have to better then this during the regular season or they will be laughing stocks. This record will also continue to grow if the Ravens keep on winning preseason games during next year's 2022 preseason. So we will just have to wait to see how far this record will extended. But for now the Ravens are king of this new record, and it will be some time before anyone else ever catches up to them. The Ravens’ preseason dominance is undeniable for now.
Interesting note - (When week one ends in the NFL there's something very interesting statistically that happens. Half of the teams have a winning record of 1.000 and the other half of the teams have a losing record of 0%. This is the only time of the season where you will ever see this happen.)
