16 Line poem about a whale watching trip
Dana Wharf or Dana Pride
On either boat with us you'll ride

We sail from Dana Point, you'll see
Gray whales fluking, whales spouting

Lots of dolphins lead our way
Splashing, jumping, nonstop play
We showcase sea life near our bay
Come join us, Reserve today!

I see the Ad, I book a tour
I get sea sick but do endure

Sea birds circle overhead
Eating sea life that are dead

Cold winds chill me to the bone
Salt spray messing up my phone

Was that a whale spout far away?
I think so, maybe, who can say?

Author's Notes:

The poem begins as an ad for a whale watching tour with all the exciting possibilities.
The second part of the poem is a more realistic depiction of what it is really like out on the ocean based on the author's personal experience. Sea birds will follow boats looking for freshly propeller chopped food.

Dana point is a very popular tourist destination in Southern CA for wail watching.
