Based on a prompt from Writer's Digest for PAD and NaPoWriMo.
I saw her when she walked by
and she was spring on a sunny day:
light and warm, spreading sunshine,
her manner easy and unaffected,
unaware of the gazes she attracted;
but the men, they shifted a little
in their seats,
their eyes brightened as they took her in:
a caress and a whisper,
perfume and lace,
and even you,
my great love,
took a pause, however brief--
it didn't hurt, but there was a sting
