I'm working on writing a book and just need feedback. This is a sample of my book.
Nina suddenly sprang to her feet. She

was spooked a by what sounded like a door

being opened. She slowed walk towards the exit

door of her room. She grabbed her

Government issued glock nine that was placed in

a safe near the exit. She also had

already a small handgun strapped to her ankle.

Nina was not what you would call an

average women. She is 5’10 and a lanky type

build but she is very firm and strong in her

upper lower body. She almost always dressed

in black as it seemed to go well with her

career. She has been well trained from her years

in the Military, Secret Service and Interpol.

She speaks fluently in 7 different foreign

languages and working on learning more such as

Arabic. As Nina slowly opened the door she

noticed a man she recognized standing in the

hallway leading to living room. “Well Charlie I

see you let yourself in without knocking or

letting me know you were coming!” Nina said.

Charlie responded, “I didn’t want to wake you

and I knew I had some important information for

you but figured I’d let you rest a little while

longer”.

Nina had only laid down not even 2 hours

before and had been up 48 hours before

that working undercover for the US Government to

try and stop a planned terrorist attack

on a Naval Shipyard on the west coast. She had

thought that everything had been taking care of

and the attack was aborted cause she and her

team had neutralized the threat. Nina

responded, ”Well I’m awake now so what info do

you have that caused you to enter my place

without my permission?” she hesitated and then

said, “it better be good cause I could shot you

and claim self-defense even though I might not

live to make the court date.” Charlie quickly

respond, “I’m really sorry to enter your home

unannounced but I had good intentions and I just

got a message from the top that the attack on

that West Coast Naval Shipyard was a diversion

the real attack is still in the planning stages

and we might be too late to stop it.”

Nina felt a uneasy feeling in her

stomach and then said, “Well then where is the

real attack supposed to take place?” Charlie

said as he too had an uneasy feeling in his

stomach, “We have intercepted a message that was

sent to the terrorist cell in charge of

the attack and it told them to go to plan B

which was encrypted but was revealed by our

NSA guys as saying to sail a cargo ship

containing explosives with C-4’s strapped to the

outer perimeter of the ship and 2 tons of gas

filled barrels located inside cargo ship

and crash it into a west coast port they had

already been told before hand.” Charlie paused

and then said, “ We don’t know what Port there

going to hit!”
(Part 1)
Nina happened to currently be staying

on the west coast in a secluded area about 30

miles north of Seattle. Her 1st concern was the

many ports that were located in Seattle.

“Well we need to figure out where were most

venerable at and where we can be

hurt the most” said Nina. “Well that’s a good

point but realistically there are more than

few ports on west coast that could hurt us not

only loss in life but financially.” said

Charlie. He continued “there are a few here in

Seattle that are very venerable and could

cripple us financially and loss of life is great

depending on when they hit and I’m

guessing there going try and strike during peak

times”. Nina also was thinking about

California and what ports there could be

venerable. “Lets get in touch with our

connection’s in LA were going need to get an

idea of where we stand there cause there’s

not doubt the damage California could have if

one of there ports were hit.” Charlie

responded,” I’ve already done that I’m waiting

on a response in the next few hours.”

Nina replied, ”I guess then we need to get on

the ball and find out where this cargo ship is

heading”. Nina and Charlie headed out the door

and entered a private helicopter heading

to office of the Port Authority to get a

briefing on where the cargo ships come from and

where they load and unload at near Seattle and

surrounding areas on the Washington Coast. They

found out all cargo goes through Strait of Juan

de Fuca before it heads to Seattle and it could

be a place they could setup to watch and

possible inspect carefully Cargo that could be

loaded with the deadly explosives. Charlie would

also learn from his contacts in LA that the most

venerable for a port attack would be San

Francisco, San Diego or LA. San Francisco was

easiest to spy cause there was a small entry way

into the San Francisco Bay if the cargo was

headed just for San Francisco only but they

still could spy close to that area . Now that

they had a good idea of where the cargo was

headed. Nina was now trying to also see where

the cargo had to come from. She had a list of a

few countries that could have there cargo high

jacked and now she need to find out where and if

terrorist could get help from them.
