The Lords of High Fantasy

My name is Lord Wolfsbane, and I am the proud leader of this group which is dedicated to the writing of High/Epic Fantasy.

What is High or Epic Fantasy you ask.

Well, it is that sub-genre of Speculative fiction that deals with Fantasy stories on the Epic scale. If you enjoyed Reading Lord of the Rings or The Song of Ice and Fire or The Chronicles of Narnia or The Wheel of Time or even the Adventures of Alice in Wonderland. If you enjoy epic scale in the worlds that are created for you by authors such as: David Gemmel, Trudi Canavan, Brandon Sanderson, and others of that ilk.
There is an element of great invention in High Fantasy.
Alternative history as in Howard's Conan the Barbarian stories, or the borders of Science Fiction in Macaffery's Pern and Raymond Feist's Magician series. There is a lot to choose from that falls within the realm of High Fantasy. Donaldson's Thomas Covenant books also fall within this category. The point is, that if it has great scope and larger than life characters in an invented reality then it is probably High or Epic Fantasy.

The Lords of High Fantasy was created to inspire those members of WDC who have a love for writing and reading High Fantasy. To share with each other their work in progress. A place where members can build confidence and master their writing skills. This group is therefore dedicated to the writing of High Fantasy. So if you write in that Genre or if you aspire to, then you will find a meeting of minds here.
