A Common Measure appeal to an Uncommon Man
Theodore Rex, come back to us
and set our leaders straight!
We made a mess of what you left,
and hope it’s not too late

We turned our back on nature’s gift,
we squandered her resource,
the wilderness that you so loved
we tamed now in due course

Our standings on the world wide stage
have taken quite a slide,
we lead now from behind the scenes
our influence has died.

Our national identity
has taken a great slide.
Immigrants have momentous rights
and vets get tossed aside.

Corporations are in control,
the common man is done.
We have to watch now what we say,
freedoms fall one by one.

So come and save us from ourselves
before we pass away!
Your wisdom now could help us to
return to grace one day!

Theodore Rex is a semi-common nickname for Theodore Roossevelt, 26th president of the USA.
