It might be safer to stay inside
WEREWOLF ON HALLOWEEN

Pumpkins here, pumpkins there,
smiling at me everywhere
Eyes that look but cannot see,
from heads as hollow as can be.

Not to know the pain I’ve given,
into who my fangs were driven
While my claws their body raked,
as more lives I chose to take.

Jack-O-Lanterns smile at me,
while I hide behind a tree
For even I let a Warlock pass,
against whose magic I can’t last.

Here I’ll wait for someone new,
maybe it just … might be you,
who will never more be seen,
after midnight on Halloween.

You may be gone without a trace,
a smile still on the pumpkin’s face.
