A pantoum about the weather... and whether or not we'll survive without air conditioning.
Too Dang Hot!

Bugger, this weather's impossibly hot
Sweating and itching is all we can do.
Surely we'll perish on this very spot
Unless the A.C. repairman comes through.

Sweating and itching is all we can do.
Fans make it worse, they just blow heat around
Unless the A.C. repairman comes through
I swear we'll start melting into the ground

Fans make it worse, they just blow heat around
Rotisserie chickens stewed in our sweat
I swear we'll start melting into the ground
Check if he's called. No, he hasn't called yet.

Rotisserie chickens stewed in our sweat
Panting like dogs with our tongues hanging out
Check if he's called. No, he hasn't called yet.
If you see his truck, then give me a shout.

Panting like dogs with our tongues hanging out
Surely we'll perish on this very spot
If you see his truck, then give me a shout.
Bugger, this weather's impossibly hot.

Form: Pantoum - A repeating poem where the lines cycle through and the last stanza harks back to the first but in reverse order. In other words, the rhyme pattern is as follows; A1, B1, A2, B2, ... B1, C1, B2, C2, etc, the last stanza being Z1, A2, Z2, A1, note the reversal of the final repeat couplet thus completeing the circle.
