A poem regarding forbidden love that is no longer.

RAINY NIGHTS

Rainy nights you awaken me.

Calling me into your storm.

Carrying me through the rain,

romancing every inch of my soul.

No storm could hold us back.

No night could hold back the light.

As the moon smiled upon us,

making love in the rain.

Up against the brick wall,

you lift me into your arms.

Everything doesn't happen in a day,

a constant reminder.

As the rain pours down on us,

you take love to the next level.

A friend turned lover, a giver of palpitations.

When we're apart your love calls out.

Into the night we go religiously,

worshipping one another.

Your strong arms wrapped around my waist

the taste of your lips upon my breasts.

Your arms protecting me from harm,

as you hold me against the tree.

Banging out stress, banishing depression,

you were my addiction.

If I could, I would drain all of you into me.

The sting of goodbye in our eyes,

the linger of memories.

Your scent haunts me in the night.

Your scent I shall cherish until the end of time.

Will God grant us another chance?

I shall await his response,

with every rainy day comes memories of you.

I shall remember it was you that loved me best.

I shall cherish the love that turned us into Gods.

I have vowed to forget those rainy nights,

when you ignited my passions.

Unfortunately, good things never last.

Rainy nights have washed them away.
