A poem about different approaches to dating and love.

Resolutions

First confused, then clear as crystal

I was sick of repetitive routine

Yes I resolved to break up

To stop pretending I was in love

I ventured into fun nights

New faces and new smiles

New stories and heightened orgasms

Weekends were Adrenaline rush

Mix of romance and meaningless sex

Once again, I felt confused

Then as crystal it cleared

I was sick of repetitive routine

Of having to start fresh

Longing for a person who knows

How I take my coffee in the mornings

I resolved to go out at night

And hunt for a soul mate

That would for a lifetime last

First confused, then it cleared

After too many rejections

And too many cold nights

I was bound to pay the price

Karma got me right

For the first time I left
