A kōel about being suprised by morning snow in April.

Morning reveals a cover of snow,
tentatively touching trees,
as late winter induces a wind to blow.

I shiver as I look out my window;
seducing, snowy, silken sweeps
filling me with an urge to go.

April, you have tricked me so;
giving ground and granting gales
to Winter, who should be your foe!

Still, I can't stay mad at you;
thinking thrilling thoughts,
of cool white, warms me through.
