Learning to Trust God in the Difficult Times
Psalm 5:3 (NIV)

In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.

I once read that David let God “open all the doors”. According to the above verse, he also waited expectantly for those doors to open. He prayed first, then waited. What a beautiful way to walk with the Lord...having enough trust to know and respect what his part was and what God’s part was. David even acknowledges that God hears His voice. He has assurance that when he prays and when He submits a request, he can rest in the knowledge that his prayer was heard.

I can recall countless times when, through impatience, I went ahead of God and caused problems because I thought I knew the right way to handle a situation. It wasn’t so much that I didn’t trust God; I didn’t look to Him in the first place. I can’t image what was going through my mind that I thought I didn’t need Him. I have since learned that trust comes first because God knows what I don’t know, and He sees what I don’t see.

Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Father, forgive me for the times I didn’t pray and wait for Your guidance. Help me to trust you more in the name of Jesus.
