Freedom vs dependency and independence |
Independence Is the free fall of amber tenuous and pale autumn-leaves Some of them fall for pink tulips in the squares some fall in the hands of some theif winds then get sold by old dealers some go missing in foreign streets Do ever independent leaves come back? My pale leaf, hoping you fall into an elegant breeze’s hand Dependence is the thorned wreath around a square rose is the clouds hair-lock holding the rays of the sun Dependence is your smile -the joy of our dusks Here, neither dependence or independence matter Freedom is ours to smile to unclench the monarch-butterfly in your lips We are free to kiss dancing fairies in the clouds We are free to not worry about falling leaves too Fluffy fairies in the sky can hold a hanging moon Like a roseant halo around the moon! and like the swarm of warm kisses around your locket freedom is yours to dance with your latched feet Our elegant rose! We are interdependent If not, Why are you dancing with heart in hand amidst head-in-hand mob in the square? We are interdependent angels or else why would a man turn into a statue to hold a fallen leaf on his shoulder? My holy rose, what limits your independence that you get eyed to eye with open-eyed sleeping hedges What makes you depend on getting mouth to mouth to the unkind winds? We are interdependent beings Soon the snow will fall winter will lay its cold mattress beneath your slashed feet the melting snow will lead you down the town’s sinks You tell me, Down in which sewer should I wait to rescue your frozen seeds? Are you free enough to walk away? Our brass bed is clean enough to heal our blood-stained bodies. when we die too The plumes of clouds heal our souls. |
