A winning formula - be patient and draft well - sign great players - a sports poem.
Hoping, leering, toppings’ fate;
Ice cream sundae, scooper’s great!
Dish or cup, the cone, a trait -
Heaven’s triumph, clean the slate.

Hiring coaches, drafting new one -
QB’s falling, injured, due one;
Entire defense having fun.
Fleeing backs, their tackles, none.

Bats do splinter, shattered, breaking.
Fans are nervous, fevered, aching.
Stadiums now rocking, shaking.
Losses building, lessons taking…

The golden era now returns.
Each fan cheers, some critic spurns.
No team’s shoulder, effort churns;
Need to realize the turns…

Loathsome game, a seeming toll -
Once they lag, the planets troll.
Never worried, yearly stroll -
Drafting well, a roster’s goal.
