"Lonely February Bird" for writer's Cramp

"Lonely February Bird"

37 lines

Lonely February bird
Flying his usual morning route,
Through the World Peace Park
In Youngjong International City,
near the early quiet Incheon airport.
.
Noticed that his human friends,
Were nowhere to be found.

He stopped and asked,
His buddy, the Squirrel
Who knew everything
That happened in the park,

“What’s going on?
Where are all the humans?”

The squirrel nodded,
And said,

“I have it on good authority
Senior Cat of the Black Cats clan
That the humans have all died.

Due to COVID 26
That killed almost all the humans
And many other creatures.”

“Ah,”

Said the bird,

“I remember that one
Mixture of avian flu
And the plague.
Almost killed me
and my flock mates.

Something escaped
Out of a Chinese bio-weapons lab
Right?”

“Righto.”

“Well, too bad about those humans
I kind of miss them
They were fun creatures”.
