A retired widower
In Berkeley, California.

Was going through
His late wife’s laptop
Cleaning things up.

When he came upon
A mysterious set
Of messages written.

In her native Korean
When he translated them

He discovered the letters
Were love letters
Between a mysterious man
And another woman,

Both are Korean but the woman
Was not his wife
At least, he did not think so.
And he did not have a clue
who the man was.

There was an email address
So he forwarded the messages
And received an automatic response
The account no longer existed.

Sam gave up
On following this mystery
Any further.

His wife had spent decades
as an intel operative
a spook, a spy.

Working in the shadow worlds
And she took a lot of secrets
With her to the grave.
