Sci Fi with a twist, a twist which hasn't been done to my knowledge.

KENDALL’S INSANITY
officer upon a driveway performs the critical check upon an individual. He, a Male: 300 lb’s in weight, long hair, stylish glasses, blonde, 5.11 rocker style, leather jacket, smart work or walking steal toe capped boots and an altogether, band look, stood before him.
He gave the usual retorts, evasive and in-compassionate. While that of the officer only wished to go about his duty? Standing within the parameters of his own home. The man repeatedly avoided questions and since individual home ownership had been revoked many years prior. The individual would have to cave at some point…
The property offered a rather nice Jeep. The kind afforded by, Western Corp web, the Drukers Union and the wing of Forrest Capable Solutions ltd. A massive multinational which had sprung up over recent years and dominated the market.
They owned enormous steal and Solidite robots. (Solidite a impressive material Mined off planet. Upon asteroid 22741 Drivadale. Which had entered orbit some moons ago and allowed for stronger and more tensile, durable production of long-lasting robots in the ruggedest of terrain.)
He stood smugly, berating the servicemen and calling him out. Seemingly an authority in law, yet an authority hater. Yet it was a given that lawmen were now given heightened powers. Which allowed them (With very little intellect, yet the ability to hone and pen pedestrian/workforce) the ability to create a hostile environment. Which, would be missed by the masses. Allowing them undisputable -- godlike power.

He’d been elusive, one to many times and that offered the ability -- and the need! To reign him in. The Rocker type had taken one to many liberties “Suits the stereotype” he thought and in this the officer had decided his coffee break was drawing in and he wanted to return to the precinct to speak with Janet (the brand-new hot piece of stuff which had recently been employed to work reception).
It made his weekend to see her and was high upon his list of todo. Seen as the job was not what he signed up for and took far too much of his free time.
He'd been told it was a walk in the park. That the pay was good, in fact great! And that he could push people about. Yeah, they’d told him the paperwork was allot less stressful and embellished their power somewhat…
“Oright fella, now I’ve told you once, an I’m not telling you a thousand times. Given you the benefit of the doubt and everything. You don’t seem to listen? it also looks as though you don’t like Authority. But buddy I’m authority, get used to it. You’re causing a scene” (Yet no one else was present). In fact, it was 2:52 in the am and literally the place was derelict. Why even was this happening? It was true his jeep had a taillight out, but it was stationary. The officer had rolled up for no reason. Yeah, if he drove the car, that would be an offence. But it was stationary.
Regardless of it’s being broken, this surely could have been followed up with more paperwork. Or even an email from the powers that be. Electrically taken from the guy’s chip, his account, without his knowledge (Yeah, he’d feel it for sure)
But the officer wanted something from the event; that was certainly a surety, and he was going to get his way. For a second he saw the guy turn to him, his hands made a gesture in the air. Far too fast to comprehend and after thinking about other things, and not his job. He wasn’t ready for it.
From an external perspective that of them watching on the cameras.
The cop’s face was planted into the driveway by someone who new martial arts of sorts. Crunch! It went on the newly, or so it would seem? Due to the officer’s skull creating such an impression (First impressions are always right -- right?) lain tarmac. Yet that tarmac had pot holes and everything, it had obviously been down for years.
This was to be the first of many shocks.
Every word was caught in perfect Technicolor sound. The assailant shot off with a start, officer now bleeding out. Assailant however left his jeep, and on the way out had picked the now bloody and bludgeoned guys walkie talkie from the ground. Speaking police code for officer down through it, then dropping it immediately after.
A man hunt it would seem, gained traction, an, a copper down is a serious offence. Within moments a police force, not entire, (that guy wasn’t well liked, even Janet couldn’t care less. She had her eyes on the massive Joc with the tinier brain but a much bigger wallet. He was from accounting; “they have to be smart there?” she thought. An, he had upgrades to make him more worthy. It was a fact, allot of them did.) Regardless, a huge amount of the force had turned out. The ones that liked hunting rabid animals from the cafeteria. Demoted for knocking people out with no cause. They’d already hit the cage, where all guns were kept, and Sarge never batted an eyelid. See Cop maiming, smacking, battering and certainly fkin up, was a big no no.
First person would have it, that the assailant was now making his way down Foravade motorway intersection. The camera feed from his ocular plant would show all where, he was heading. In this day and age, it was just far too difficult to run. An, a runner was a complete nutter. because who was going to escape, while being watched?
That’s when it happened – the feed, went, black. Having never happened before; there was nothing short of complete shock in the eyes of all which watched.

Just -- black out!

It went straight to the techy section, for them to bring it up. But even they had become lazy as hell (Why bother when all of them systems are taken care of by programs and A.I. I mean what is the point of doing anything. They were simply there for their “massive brains” yet the point was [as they didn’t use them] They had become almost entirely useless.) The precinct hadn’t kept up payments for the insurance and added assistance wasn’t available. Even the shiny button was just for show. As when pressed, it did nothing! “Aww shit, this shoddy station” A voice went up and that was the end of that.
It was a fact and a half, most of the systems, while advanced were just for show. As no one ever really committed much crime anymore and for the most part, people had to be antagonized to bring in any real revenue. Which was 95% of policing anyway, even before the technological breakthroughs of the current century.
