Cindy is shocked to be blackmailed
"Say that again," Samantha said.

"I'm being blackmailed," Cindy repeated, her arms crossed in front of her.

The mere thought of little Miss Innocent being blackmailed for any reason was so incredible that it sent me into hysterical laughter, causing me to fall from the chair onto the floor.

"What is wrong with you? This isn't funny," she huffed. "It's serious business.

I managed to get off the floor and tamp down the laughter that continued to bubble up inside me.

I held my hand out, "Okay, okay. Just what, praytell, is someone blackmailing you with?"

Cindy yanked a piece of paper from her back pocket and thrust it toward me. "Take a look for yourself."

I snatched the note and opened it.

I saw what you did. You'll have to pay up if you don't want to lose your job.

I flipped the paper over, looking for a sign leading to the blackmailer, but found none.

"Okay, definitely blackmail, but what do you think you did?" I asked.
