. A very dear friend recently lost her son..I wrote this for her
Somewhere between sleep and awake
I hear you calling my name
And I know in my soul, darling child,
Things will never be quite the same,

We shared a moment in time,
A beautiful gift from above;
A time too short here on earth,
Yet filled with a lifetime of love.

The pain feels too much to bear.
My heart doesn’t want to go on.
Without you will never feel right.
I just can’t believe you are gone.

I know I will see you again
On the other side of eternity
But until that moment comes,
This grief seems too much for me.

Our heavenly Father called you home,
And with Him you are at peace.
No pain and no sorrows are there
In a place where joys never cease.

Even now through my agony
I rejoice that you were a part
Of my mortal life here on earth-
Of the place you filled in my heart.

I thank God for the moments we shared
I thank Him for you, my sweet one.
And I thank Him because I know
For you, life’s victory is won.
