Lyn's a sly fox: The Rock always remembers until even it is worn away by wind and water, reduced to grains of sand.

As a child I felt safe alone in my summer-garden or winter-closet. I would have envied Harry Potter's nook under the stairs.

I have good night-vision. I see the hundred shades of black and grey.

Fortunately, I live in a world of a thousand colors by day.

I miss the pitter=patter of little feet. Sometimes the loss overwhelms so much seek solitude in a place where darkness can only reside.

I wonder if you reside in the darkness too when I read your comments.

Anni Pon Perhaps overdone on the references. Glad you picked up on 'venison'. 40 words makes it tight.

I was homeless years after I took in refugees. Folks did help me. Maybe that thought was lurking in the back of my mind. "Homeless" is a deadly label in so many ways. I left Kansas for Montana in 2008 because I wanted to start anew.

I love this idea, and all the references and imagery. Especially the line: ‘Poverty was a red-nosed light-bulb flashing "homeless”…’ it’s really tragic to think of the jolly man who gives everyone gifts every year in such dire straits he has to eat his rain deer, and no one would help him….

Apondia Definite loss of habitat in Thailand. Elephants have a hard time as do 100 species of birds. Humans tend to not know what they have until it's all gone. Very anthrocentric.

I've read about the monkey problems in India and a couple other countries. I also read about loss of habitat as causes.

Wordsmitty ✍️ LOPBURI MONKEY BANQUET FESTIVAL... be there! End of November. They set a buffet in honor of the macaques that lure the tourists into town.

Choices...

...we usually have choices...

...not always good ones.

Enough said.

I didn't know this emoticon existed. I need to get back to writing short stories.

If I had wings I'd fly away.

I'll be watching the Supreme Court this week. Will they? Won't they?

I haven't finished my first coff... give me a bre...

Me:

This blog is near its 1,450 entry limit. I'll have to decide what to do with it. I can consolidate old entries, put them elsewhere and then continue with the added "space" or go back to "L'aura del Campo" which I am using as my plog. Or... I could start a new one by eliminating one of the "books" I'm not using.

We have choices.

Same with my travels. If I do not dedicate a session to buying tickets for my next trip I won't be going. It's that simple. I have choices. If I don't decide though I'm "stuck" here.

I have felt overwhelmed rearranging my two rooms. The sun today may energize me. I didn't make my last goal but made excellent progress. My new goal is this Sunday. Unfortunately, this goal is more crucial.

I'd rather be planning my next trip... and to tell the truth I'd rather be dreaming it.

Dreams don't get things done however.
