Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

Wanna look young? Sit next to someone older!
Seeing Andra Marquardt's picture of Tom today in a huge chair reminds me of how small I was as a child. Then I read a poem of Ann Carter and remember that a year ago I was packing for England. My age is showing today... like a worn out plastic bag... it's leaking, as posted at facebook.

I'll need to remind myself of this when I am back at the Senior Center in Missoula. The 90 year olds will make me feel young.

ME:

Woke up 5ish but as I have no obligations I got up 7ish. Watching the horses jump in England with a cup of coffee with agua dulce.

Sunny morning. The Talamanca ridge is clear. Should be a nice climb for Ludo and Malou from Holland.

Thank-you:

A big hug to everyone who reads and comments on my blogs. Loved that Alfred was able to take the idea/image of mosquito whispers and go with it. In the piece I wrote yesterday I had them gossiping to a cow... but whispers... what do they whisper about? And couldn't they do it more quietly? Or somewhere else? Somewhere else would be my recommendation.

Used to keep me awake as a child. Still bother me. Lots of mosquitoes here in Costa Rica. Not concerned about malaria but dengue fever is common and a concern.

Boring climates:

I used to wonder what it would be like to live in an "ideal" climate like San Diego. Now I do. What do folks do without the seasons to inspire them?

One copes.

This week has been wonderful weather. Sunny mornings, threat of rain in the afternoon (preferably delivered) and clear cooling evenings. Boring. But my life is okay with the calm for now. I just find something to do if I have no plans.

But... without the seasons I don't feel compelled. I can always go somewhere or do something tomorrow. Mañana... se dice.

Fortunately, I have had a touch of winter (in Montana) and spring (Norway) not to forget hot summer (Nicoya). In a month I'll be back in Montana. I'm hoping for a nice autumn. Although... it's been cool there and it could get frosty early.

England

Maybe it's the Olympics. A year ago I was preparing for England (turned out to be the best vacation I've ever had). Reading Ann's poem I just wanted to call her. I should, y'know. Call the Queen too. I miss people.

I'll miss this place too.
