Pride Comes Before The Fall

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Psalm 30:4
Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Explain this verse.

Answer:
It is another verse telling us to trust in the Lord. God hates lying. Pride comes before the fall. God has respect for those who remain humble and donโ€™t think more of themselves than they should.

I realized today that I had made a mistake in my Scripture writing yesterday. I corrected it today when I noticed it. Oops! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I am trying to make my blog resemble a daily newsletter. Tell me what you think. Does it lack something and I need to add to it? Do I have too much, and need to tone it down? Are you finding it interesting? Should I rearrange the sections on my entries?

I usually don't get my blog posted until later in the day because I work on it as I have time throughout the day.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Current study is on the Armor of God. The below entry is the Bible study that was posted this week. I hope to build upon this foundation. My hope is that this will be a group and place for people to learn about God and for Christians to grow in Christ and fellowship together. I hope to eventually incorporate scripture memorization/familiarity, possibly optional blog prompts, Bible quizzes along with other fun activities, and a place to find other Christian groups and resources. If anyone has anything you would like to include or contribute or would like to see a link added to an item, send me a message and let me know. I am open to hearing other ideas also. What would you like to see more of on WDC? Maybe together we can make it happen.

I only have 3 entries so far. I would like to see more entries by the end of the month. I will give 1000 gift points to everyone who enters up to the 1st 10 entries out of my own gift points. Write me a poem about Spring/Rain, Tornadoes, or St. Patrick's Day. Living in Oklahoma, I would really love to read a couple about tornadoes. Scripture writing - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22

Scripture:
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Observations:
Verse 16- Rejoice in the Lord Always, and again I say rejoice. (Philippians 4:4)
Verse 17- Pray all the time.
Verse 18- In everything give thanks. Everything works out for your good, and is is God's will for you.
Verse 19- Donโ€™t quench the Holy Spirit.
Verse 20- Donโ€™t despise prophesying.
Verse 21- Hang on to what is good. Prove everything before you just take it at face value.
Verse 22- Donโ€™t do anything that even appears to be evil.

Application:Always pray and rejoice in the Lord. Always be thankful. Develop an attitude of gratitude. Don't stop the work of the Holy Spirit. Don't despise prophesying. Hold on to what is good. Don't take anything at face value, always test it and prove its worth. Don't do anything that even appears to be evil.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Help me to always be on my best behavior. Help me to not even appear to be doing anything evil. Help me to keep the right attitude of gratitude, praise, joy, and prayer. Help me to always and only embrace the good.
In Jesusโ€™s name,
Amen.

Mother Nature dropped in for coffee because she heard something's on your mind. This is your opportunity to speak your mind.

I love my morning coffee. I drink 1 to 2 cups every morning. I have to limit it due to blood pressure. I should probably give it up, but I honestly don't want to.

Write about this in your Blog entry today.

It is always nice to watch children playing, but unfortunately we all have to grow up sometime.
