P15 Complain about something in detail.

I need to complain about hearing aids. They are driving me crazy. I just got mine last year. My husband has them as well. I seem to spend a lot of time and energy with “What did you say?” “Did you put your hearing aids in?” “No, that’s not what I meant.” It’s making me nuts.

I know hearing aids are valuable in the fight against dementia and Alzheimer’s. They can help you feel less isolated, more connected to society. I read an interesting article today about this.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/13/health/dementia-hearing-loss-biobank-wellness/ind...

I don’t mind being alone. In fact, most of my life I preferred it. I need to have some part of the day to myself. It helps me cope with being with people. Introverts get that. Extroverts feed on being with people, introverts need to recharge before they can go out in the world again.
So being quiet is fine with me. I don’t have a problem with it. But not being able to hear anyone talking is not good.

I remember getting glasses as a 5th grader. What a difference to finally be able to see the blackboard in school, and leaves on the trees! When I got these hearing aids, I then realized just how much of a hearing loss I had. They made a big difference. I no longer had to ask people to repeat themselves, over and over.

But the battle continues at home, in the car, shopping. But I guess that’s more than just a problem with our hearing aids.

We need to E-N-U-N-C-I-A-T-E says my better half. And I reply “What? What did you say?”
