First Entry for June - "Emma" by Jane Austen
Emma was originally published in 1815 (well over 100 years ago *BigSmile* ) It could be viewed as a comedy, with sharp dialogue between characters. Emma Woodhouse is the main character in this story. She is vain and meddlesome, and after some sharp disappointments, comes to realize it, and tries to make amends. Will she be successful?

The setting of the story takes place in the fictional village called Highbury, England. It is set in the early 19th century.

I have seen the movie and read the book. While the movie is enjoyable, you miss out on a lot of the background set up by Ms. Austen as she crafts her novel.

I give the movie a 4*Star* rating, as you just cannot adapt a movie from an entire book. I give the rating of the book a 5 *Star* . I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a fun and engaging novel about someone who gets into everybody's business, without regard to their feelings.
