Visit 5 different newsletters from last year in the archives. Post them with 5 different paragraphs explaining why you chose them and what you liked. Post them to The Tavern Sit for a while and chat.
"Comedy Newsletter (October 25, 2023) Ԝ€ß☆ԜiʈCH I chose this comedy newsletter because I love and relate to humour. I too have a family that provides fodder for my writing and I chuckled at the anecdotes Ԝ€ß☆ԜiʈCH shared. She wrote of a dead and stinky starfish in her vehicle's trunk. My brother once left a can of worms intended for fish bait in our windowless panel van in the summer. Ah yes, the brief coma of a toad who Mom could not admit to her daughter was deceased.
"Mystery Newsletter (November 15, 2023) Arakun the Twisted Raccoon I read this mystery newsletter because I am a mystery genre fan. I enjoy a who-done-it. What a great quote as a hook." Mystery spread its cloak across the sky." Moody Blues The topic of a criminal/murderer hiding or disposing of incriminating evidence was interesting. What are the advantages to each of these solutions ?
"Short Stories Newsletter (December 6, 2023) Legerdemain I peeked at this Short Stories newsletter because its title caught my eye, What's your Finger Doing? Excuse me? My finger is pecking at a computer keyboard, not flipping off a stupid, inconsiderate driver. The advice to explore and use the resources of WDC resonated with me. There is so much available at this site. One of my fingers is supposed to keep on the pulse of WDC. Yes, it is not languishing or in imminent danger of dying.
"Noticing Newbies Newsletter (November 15, 2023) Jeff I visited this Noticing Newbies newsletter because this is where we all began here at WDC. We ventured onto the site as wet-behind-the-ears writers searching for like-minded creative types. If we are active this status is brief. I found his advice to be of the encouraging, no-nonsense type. Set realistic goals and attempt to make writing a habit, a routine. Why not write daily? Writing any amount of words is still an accomplishment and one that most likely fits in our busy lives.
"Drama Newsletter (December 6, 2023) Joy This is a Drama newsletter that intrigued me with its title, Plots From Our Own Lives. "That's why I write, because life never works except in retrospect. You can't control life, but at least you can control your version." Chuck Palahniuk Several best-selling authors draw from their own personal back stories. I tend to do this, too. Sometimes, the names are changed to protect the innocent. Drama exists everywhere. No one is a stranger to challenges, conflicts or obstacles.
