When I Was Young
When I was young
I was so carefree
I had not one fear
To hold me back.

When I was young
I could be me
I wasn't afraid
To show the person inside.

Now that I am older
The fears have crept up
And have gradually
Gained control of my life.

Now that I am older
I'm afraid to let people
Discover the real me
For fear of rejection.

Now that I am older
Life seems less fun
How I long for the days
When I was young!
