Midnight and Morning Thoughts
5 Mulk 163 B.E. – Sunday, February 11, 2007

“It’s not too late to be what you might have been.”
Alison Teal

Midnight Thoughts

I’m floating
somewhere between yesterday and tomorrow.

I’m free falling
through the cold hydrogen of interstellar space
without a space suit,
an oxygen masks
or a destination.

I’m tumbling
head over heals into the future,
catching random glimpses
of stars and planet,
moons and asteroids,
comets with their icy tails stretched behind them.

"He who hesitates is a damned fool."
Mae West

Morning Thoughts

I’m floating
orbiting a planet teaming with possibilities.

The planet’s star
is casting a bright shadows
across my future.

On the planet below
there is a secret hidden
in the jungles of verdant desire.

Fear crawls into my belly
making a tight knot in my guts,
echoes out of my past
reverberate through my mind.

Future possibilities
and past dreams copulate
creating a new present.

Descending into the atmosphere,
procrastination and hesitation burn
becoming smoke and ashes.

Faith crackles in my ears,
as I fall toward
a sapphire ocean,
rebirth closes the door to yesterday
and rips the curtain from the portal of tomorrow;
I live in the eternal now,
unhaunted by what was or what will be.
