Of Mountains and Molehills
The way of nature and humanity


Nature has a way
of making mountains into molehills;
of removing the mountain crest
stone by stone
layer by layer
until nothing is left
but a sandy beach on the rim
of a peaceful ocean.

Humanity has a way
of making molehills into mountains;
of building barriers of differences
between groups,
between individuals
of segregating the human species
into the valleys of them and us.
