I wonder what I am in dog years.
My son left Friday, June 22nd for a month in Minnesota with his dad. He's never been away from me that long --- or Betty. Honestly, I wasn't sure if he was
going to be able to go through with it. Oh, he put on a show about missing me, but his real worry was if Betty would be okay. They are both spoiled and inseparable. They say there is something about a boy and his dog - now I believe it. Since the day we got her from the shelter, they have had a connection.

So in an attempt to make this easier on all those concerned, I agreed to things I would never usually agree to. Yes, she may sleep with me (She's a boxer mix), yes, I will walk her once in awhile. Yes, I will give her treats. Blah blah blah.

Friday, June 22: Reese left at 10:30 p.m. Betty looked everywhere for him after I got back from dropping him off. I told her she could sleep with me. In the morning, I found her in Reese's bed with her head under the pillow. PITIFUL!

Saturday, June 23: I grilled her some chicken, and put up with her following me from room to room. This night she slept with me.

Sunday, June 24: So i'm feeling nice and decide to take her for a walk. Well, apparently I don't walk at the speed of a 15 year old boy. At one point I was quite sure either my arm was going to be pulled out of socket or her neck was going to snap. This was not what I would consider successful.

Sunday evening I'm mowing the lawn - sweating my ass off -- and the dang dog poops right where i'm mowing about 3 times. I am not happy at this point. I'm swearing she is getting no special treatment tomorrow.

Today: i give in and take her for a walk -- it went much better - even when the 2 tiny dogs that i thought were cats challenged Betty. Reese called and wanted to talk to her. Her tail started wagging so much it whipped me in the face. Trying to keep smiling while I secretly plot when I can escape to a hotel for a couple of days so I can have me time, instead of Betty time.
