Chapter 22
11:59
"Oh my God! Oh my God! We are early! We are too early!"
"You don't know that yet."
"Get out the book and the chant Emma, we need it now!" Bonnie screamed
They stood next to each other reading some sort of stupid chant that Janet and Bonnie had
written.
12:00
"Oh my God! Is she dead? Is she dead?" Janet's mother came running up to the garden.
Her face was streaked with tears.
Both Bonnie and Emma told her to be quiet.
Bonnie could see sparks fly out from the ground.
The ground lit up like the fourth of July.
A huge sphere of light floated up from the ground as sparks flew from either side of the
dirt grave. The crowd stepped back as the show of fireworks lit up the sky.
Everything grew dark and quiet.
The crowd was totally silent.
No one could breathe.
No one wanted to breathe.
"Oh my God! Emma dig! Emma dig! We have to get her out! She's been in too long already!"
Bonnie dug the dirt out with her hands that would be near Janet's face. She dug so fast and
furious she was afraid she might hurt Janet.
Bonnie spied a few strands of hair and continued to dig. She removed the dirt from Janet's eyes,
ears, hands and nose.
Janet's motionless body lay there uncovered. In the cold of the night somewhere off in the
distance there was a small explosion in the sky. Bonnie could see shooting stars and streaks of
lights disappear over the horizon.
"Hey, what's everybody looking at?" Janet asked.
Bonnie screamed with delight.
"Bonnie! You came for my birthday! I'm so happy to see you made it!"
Bonnie grabbed Janet and gave her a great big hug, "A herd of wild horses couldn't keep me
away!"

During the days following the game room had been blocked off and everything returned to their
rightful owners. The rest stored in a storage shed on the hospital grounds. The game that had been
invented had been burned at a bon fire created by Janet's family and staff.
Bonnie hated Emma and Emma hated Bonnie. Janet pretty much expected that and just dealt with it as
each day came.
The courts found Janet "Not Guilty due to Insanity" on the murder of Billy Prescott.
Janet left room number 146 of the insane asylum where she spent the next six years of her life recovering
and discharged by the doctors with a clean bill of health.
There were times when Janet lay in her bed close to that dream state of sleeping that she would glance across the room.
She'd see a dark figure, with big broad shoulders and beautiful blue eyes staring at her.
