Warehouse Distract

I chose the warehouse distract. I'm not sure why, maybe it had something to do with the way the warehouses cast shadows across the water. It could be that I just like the feel a tall buildings rising above me because it gives me the feeling of being in a canyon; not a natural canyon, but a human created canyon with building creating the canyon walls. I'm going to have to explore this feeling in some of my short stories or poem. In order to find the essence of a city, a nation or a culture you have to look at the buildings and other mad made structures. Maybe I'm just an archaeologist deep in my soul.

Reflections in water,
windows looking down at their own reflections
while their reflections look up at them in awe.

Buildings cast their shadows in water,
stone steps descend to the water's edge
where boats once loaded and unloaded cargo.

Do the ghosts of workers
long passed into the mist of time
still haunt Hamburg's warehouse district
or is it the buildings themselves
which speak to the poet's soul
requesting to be remember
in more the must photos displayed
on smartphone, on a Facebook page or in tourist albums.

Warehouses
are the city's heart, soul and past;
living antiques begging
to be remember and used
for more then just attracting
foreign and native tourist.

After seeing the warehouse district
all a poet wants to do
is find a coffee shop
to sip coffee and write poetry
about the warehouses.

Restaurant Hala

It doesn't matter to me if the fare is gluten free!
The only thing I care about is the menu options
and the atmosphere. Good food should be consumed
and enjoyed in a pleasant cordial atmosphere.

The Red Light District

It's nice to know what a real red light district should look like (because I might need to use it in a story). Las Vegas, despite rummer to the contrary doesn't have a true red light district, at least not like Hamburgs. While prostitution, is legal in some counties of Nevada, it's illegal in Clark County. Not that we don't have prostitutes because they do ply their trade in Las Vegas and Clark county we just don't have brothels like some of the other counties in Nevada.
