January 3--Personal RIghts
Today's prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS is: Does any government have a right to say what you can or cannot do with your body?

This is an interesting question. I do believe we should have a fair amount of freedom, but I also believe in the idea that one person's rights end where another person's rights begin. I think I have the right to not be subjected to rude language, and more importantly, not to have my children be subjected to that, so I think it would be great if it were illegal to tattoo curse words on your exposed areas of your body. I think it is not the fault of an unborn child that their parents made a mistake and that child has the right to life, just like their parents. I don't believe abortion should be legal in most cases. There are probably other cases that I can't think of off the top of my head, but yes, in some situations, I believe the government has the right to tell people what to do with their bodies, if it infringes on the rights of others.

I realize this is probably not the most popular stance, but it is where I stand.
