 |   We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life. |
| What would we do with an extended time without power? This family would switch gears "on a dime." We are known for painting, writing with pen and pencil in notebooks, creating jewelry and needlepoint. We would work by the light of the sun in the daytime and work by candlelight at night. When we got tired of crafting,...my ladies, (my daughter, Jade Amber Jewel and my wife, the Hippy Chick) would read books, while drinking tea, that came from the water of a kettle boiled over an outdoor open flame, until they fell asleep. I would play the piano by candlelight, until I merely wanted to sit and contemplate. It is true, that we are on the internet pretty much every day for hours a day, but we have a plethora of loves, that do not require electricity. If it's in the winter, then we may simply need to snuggle up under a quilt to stay warm. Communication and the personal warmth of family togetherness. That's the ticket! Besides, we plan times, that take us away from the internet. It's good to communicate with people around the world on the internet, but we do not ever want to neglect the importance of remaining close to those with whom we share the closest relationships in life. We might have to maintain our 30-Day Blogging Challenge writing our posts on notebook paper and sending them by courier or pony express to PA, but that IS do-able!  We love to take walks. We love to observe the nature around us. Hippy Chick pointed out the fact the other day, that the tops of the leafless trees looked like hands reaching for the sky. Another start to a great painting for her. We LOVE to write!!! This IS true! However, we consider ourselves to be wordsmiths. ART is our first LOVE! We create ART with acrylic paints, pens, markers, cloth as well as repurposed clothes, threads, voice, notes...and...WORDS and with so much more. When ART is in the Heart, then the world is the canvas! Enjoy Life and you will have much Life to Enjoy! That philosophy is electricity-optional.
