These stories will tell the tale of Little Bat and her adventures outside the cave. |
| "Mommy, I'm ready," Little Bat jumped into the air with excitement. "Come, we're going to the beach," Alicia, Little Bat's mother said. Together they flew from the cave outside. The forest surrounded the cave with greenery. Then they flew through the forest to a little beach on the other side. Today Little Bat is going to visit Roger, the hermit crab. Roger knows many stories to tell and Little Bat wanted to hear one of his stories about the beach. Who knows what kind of adventure awaits. Then they landed on the sand beside one of the larger shells. Soon a hermit crab appeared from underneath the shell. "Why, good evening. You're here bright and early. I have a supper to make for Miss Lily. Do you care to help me out?" Roger asked. "Sure, I can help you out. What do you need?" Little Bat replied. "I need a nice, green leaf from on top of a tree. That is where I'll put the supper on. Careful with your search so you don't mess it up," Roger said. "We can help with that. I'll help Little Bat search for a leaf for you," Alicia said. "I appreciate it," Roger said. "Come this way," Alicia said. The two lifted up in the air and then found the nearest palm tree. The leaves were difficult to pull. Then one gradually became free on its own. Quickly Little Bat grabbed the leaf. Alicia helped with the heavier side. Together they flew the leaf over to where Roger is. "We found a leaf for you," Little Bat said. "Great, just what I wanted. Please place it here," Roger said. Little Bat and Alicia set down the leaf. Then Roger began to put some things onto the leaf and kept at it until the leaf is full. Then he began to tell a story about a little mermaid who ended up lost in sea. The mother searched all over for her. Finally the little mermaid arrived at this beach. Soon the mother came over and found her laying on the beach. Leaving behind a magical Sea Star, the little mermaid left and went back home with her mother. Soon Miss Lily arrived and then the two began eating. Little Bat said goodbye to them and then left with her mother to head back to the cave. She enjoyed the story about the little mermaid. |
