But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Luke was possibly a physician. Maybe Paul's personnel physician since they may have traveled together. When this book was written it was habitual to use your voice to speak to congregations, about the things Jesus said and did. It was more a spoken witness than a study in scriptures.

Some miracles were still being preformed as a witness to the ability of the Holy Spirit. to give health and grace to believers. Becoming a believer means a change in your life.

Also, many of the people were not well versed in the ways of God. The congregations depending on their locality may have worshiped other gods in Roman and Greek temples. The new testament was just being formed in writing and gathering of written evidence.

Jesus also was in favor of the Human voice as a way to tell of the Holiness of God the Father. If God is speaking through you, obviously, the spirit will use voice to do this.

And if you write? Luke was building a historical witness with his writings.
