Fire and Ice, Pestilence and Floods, Bread Pudding
Part 1.

"May you live in interesting Times" is both a curse and a blessing.

Just because a wound may heal doesn't mean we should go around beating the dogs, the kids, the land upon which we live and depend.

Americans specifically live in a throw-away society. Not all places consume and waste like we do. That we have evangelized consumption, competition and conflict should make Americans ashamed. We aren't.

There are other voices and other ways. We aren't listening long and hard enough.

I may do a blog about this so I can vent about out deafness.

Bread pudding might make a decent metaphor.

As might removing a splinter.

Climate extremes are in the news. Not only heat, like the Tropical Nights of Ireland, but extreme flooding in Yemen, China and Germany.

There have been headlines almost every day concerning extreme events.

Part 2.

To Robert: "Definitely Danny Downer today. Hugz.

I'm more optimistic than this when I'm depressed.

'Good' and 'Bad' happen, but when the 'Good' gives up...

One person may be flexible like a willow wand. A bunch of willow wands is hard to bend. It's why autocrats can respond quicker than (small d) democrats. Rights erode when we refuse to bend together (thinking of race and religious divides). Covid-denial is an example of magical thinking trumping medical science. Nativism and Nationalism becoming a growing part of Americanism is frightening as the World gets smaller due to natural processes. And Mother Nature is ignored at our own peril.

Oh Sweet Summer Child! I wish I were."

Part 3.

Not great audio but points out ice melt and fires.

Is there anyone left in denial?
