The WDC Short Story So Far

Today hasn’t been too bad when it comes to writing my Short Story for the WDC contest this month. But it hasn’t been all that good either. I have gotten almost half of it done so far. And I will get the rest of this part done before I go to sleep tonight. True, I would like to do one or two more before I go to sleep. But if I can only finish this part, I will be happy.

Why do I feel like that? Don’t I want to get this Short Story finished as quickly as I can so that I can get going with the second one I’m writing this month? Of course, I want to finish it as soon as possible. But it has taken me a long time just to get this far. I have already had some re-writes that needed to be done. Mostly because of the Word Count limitations. But also because I didn’t like what was happening to it.

It’s hard to explain why I didn’t like it. But I will try, though. It just didn’t feel right. The way they were saying it, how they were saying it, what led up to them saying what they said, things like that. Does that make any sense to you? It doesn’t to me. And I’m the one who is trying to do it.

All the re-writing isn’t the only reason why I haven’t gotten more writing done today. But it may be why I haven’t either. Today, it has been kind of busy with what I and my brother needed to do today. As a result, I didn’t have too much time to write today. But I have some. And I did get a lot of writing done with the little time I had to do it. It should have been a lot better, though.

The main reason why I didn’t get too much writing done today is because of me not sleeping too well the last couple of nights. I did sleep a lot better last night. But because of the night before that when I only got a few hours of sleep I had some catching up to do. And I did catch up on it a little bit. Not as much as I thought that I did.

That’s why I probably won’t get one or two more parts written for this Short Story. I may be lucky if I finish this part. After all, I still do have some sleeping to get caught up on. This means I will most likely be going to sleep soon after I finish writing and posting this blog entry. Especially, since I’m going to be getting up in a few hours to post my next blog entry.
