One Short Story This Month

As of this latest blog entry, I only have one Short Story to write for this month. I will probably have another one before the end of this week. But right now, I only got this one. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the time to work on it today. that isn’t as bad as it reads, though. I have come up with a Short Story. And I’ve gotten my parts written for it. Just haven’t officially started writing it yet.

I got the latest WDC Prompt a couple of days ago. And almost instantly I have a Short Story. But this one is different from my last few. No, I’m not going to write it differently. That isn’t what makes it different. It’s the kind of Short Story that it is. It isn’t a Science Fiction one. True, I could have adapted it to Science Fiction. After all, there are a lot of short stories that relate to it. But I decided not to do that this month.

It doesn’t matter. I know I’m not going to win this contest either. But I do have a much better chance of doing it, though. Whether the judges like Science Fiction or not, they don’t get what I’m trying to write. Maybe they will like a Short Story that isn’t Science Fiction a little more. At the very least it won’t have anything that needs me to try to explain since they don’t like that.

Will I continue to work on this Short Story after I finish writing and posting this blog entry? I would like to do that. But I probably won’t. it has been a typical first day off from work. This is the first chance that I have had to get on my laptop today. That’s how busy that it has been for my brother and me. It started very early this morning. And it only stopped about an hour ago.

Not even any time to catch up on my sleep that I didn’t get last night. That’s right. It was a normal Monday for that as well. I didn’t get too much sleep last night. That’s probably why I’m most likely going to go to sleep soon after this blog entry is posted. I’m going to try to stay up long enough to get a little bit of writing done on this Short Story. But I don’t think that I’m going to be able to do it.

Unfortunately, tomorrow isn’t going to be too much better. I know that we need to get a few things done today. And I don’t think that it will take us too long to do them. But I may be wrong about that. It wouldn’t be the first time that happened. And I don’t think that it will be the last one either.
