An Extremely Big Change

I’m still going to continue working on my Water Wars movie script on my new tablet at work the rest of this week. But that’s not what I’m doing after work. It’s still not a done deal. I am working on it. But I’m in the process of doing a complete re-writing of this project. And I’m not writing about the movie for this project or the first episode of it.

What am I trying to write about? I’m trying to write that I am going to start this project from scratch. Why am I doing it? it’s because of the industry. More than likely, when I sell this project, it’s going to be to either a streaming service or a cable company. And the length of their scripts is a little longer than the major networks.

The scripts for the major networks like ABC, CBS, and NBC are about forty-five minutes long. But the streaming and cable ones are around fifty to fifty-five or more. Even if they are slightly under fifty, they are still over forty-five. And those are still between forty-six to forty-nine. With forty-eight being the most common one.

It’s not just the length of the scripts, though. It’s also because this project is a Science Faction Action/Adventure. Maybe the Science Faction part of it may not warrant the extra length. But the Action/Adventure part of it does. It’s not a done deal yet. So, I may end up doing it the way that I have been doing it. But I don’t think that I will.

If I do a complete re-write from scratch, this last year hasn’t been a total waste of my time when it comes to my working on this project. I have learned a lot about it. Especially, how my Outlines need to be changed because of my scripts. It happened with the movie script. And it has already happened to the first episode. I’m sure it will be the same for the other three episodes too.
