Nothing is Worse Than a Split Shift
Nothing is Worse Than a Split Shift

Once again, I was wrong. I thought that there was nothing worse than a split shift. Other than working my whole shift at either what I can the main gate or at my old post. Especially, if it was at the main gate. Either one of them is worse. Particularly, if it’s during a weekday like it was yesterday at work. But neither of them is related to a split shift. They are full shifts.

What I am writing about is a split shift. And there is at least one thing that is worse than them. That’s what I call a double split shift. What does that mean? It means that I only worked two hours at my old post. For the other six, I worked at my regular post. Why did I do that? Because a new guard trained at my regular post. But I wasn’t the one who trained her. And I think that I know why.

It’s very possible that this weekend will be my last week at this post. They have three new guards that started this week. And I think one of them is for my shift. That would explain me not training the new one at my regular post. Even though that would have been ironic if I had. Me training my replacement. I hope that this isn’t my last week at this post. But there’s a very chance that it is.

There is another possible reason for me not training her at my regular post that I just thought of. It could be that they aren’t firing me. At least not yet. They still might be trying to get me to quit. Especially, if the newest Site Supervisor that I haven’t seen so far this week is no longer there. What they may be planning to do is put me at my old post permanently.

They may think that will get me to quit. But once again they are wrong. In fact, if that’s true, then it’s just the opposite. I will be so mad that I will get even with them. If they think I’m slow now, they haven’t seen anything yet. The only way that I’m leaving there is if they fire me. And if they are stupid enough to fire me completely, then they are really in for it.

What does all this have to do with me working on my Water Wars scriptwriting project yesterday at work? It means that I didn’t get any writing done again. That makes two days in a row that this has happened. Mostly, it was because of how extremely busy it was there yesterday. But a lot of it was because of the weirder split shift. I wanted to get some writing done. And I know that I should have tried to do it. But I was so mad that I was afraid of how it would turn out if I had done it.
