New Life, New Planet

Gunnar looked down into the valley. He felt a pang of guilt leaving his ship full of bodies. He was surprised how little pain he felt. It was like a wound without pain. He knew it would hurt eventually, but, he had more important things to do. He had to survive. He had to make a new life. He looked at the double suns and the moon far in the distance. It would take some doing, but he was sure he would make it. He smiled despite himself. He felt unbridled joy at the chance to make a new life.
