Where Have All the Prompts Gone?
Where Have All the Prompts Gone?

I just checked for the two prompts that I will use for my short stories for this month. If I ever get then. after all, neither one was there. Yes, I know that this is only the first day of March. So, there is still plenty of time for me to write them. But I can’t do that if there are no prompts for these contests.

How can I write any short stories if I don’t have any prompts to go by. I can understand why one of them hasn’t come out yet. I’ll be lucky if I get it within the next week or two. But the other one is for the WDC Short Story contest. Yes, it has only been a few hours, almost a day, into this month. But without a prompt, I can’t write my Short Story. It’s usually here by now. But it’s not this month.

True, there have been a few months when it has come out in the first two or three days. But most of them have been a few hours to within a day. Not this month, it hasn’t. And there is only a little bit more than an hour before the end of today. Hopefully, it will be in before I go to sleep tonight. If not, hopefully, it will be there by the time I wake up tomorrow at eleven AM WDC time.

The longer it takes to get these prompts, the longer it will be before I can try to finish both of them. True, the WDC Short Story is my priority. Once I get done writing it, I can go on with the second one. So, not being here right now isn’t that big of a problem. But like the first one, I can’t write it until I get a prompt.

Hopefully, both of them will be here before I go to sleep tonight or when I wake up tomorrow. But I doubt it. At least it may be for the first one. I doubt it will be for the second Short Story for this month. I’ll probably be lucky if I have another two weeks to write it. Hopefully, it won’t take that long. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it did.

There is nothing that I can do until I get my prompts. And the sooner I get them the faster I can either come up with a Short Story or remember one. It all depends on if it’s a Science Faction story or not. My second Short Story of the month will be. But the first one might not be. It usually is too. Not always, though.
